About

A few minutes away from Southend town centre, round the corner from some rather nice restaurants, is BeARTa Tattoo Studio, run by Beata Nemes. BeARTa Tattoo Studio is waiting for you in a friendly, new environment in the heart of Southend-on-Sea, Essex. The Studio has been designed in a clean and modern style to promote a relaxing atmosphere for all our customers. We have a separate private area in a beautiful and hygienic setting. We use Cheyenne Hawk Spirit tattooing machines which has got less noise and vibration, highly sensitive reaction times, precise and clean punctures. We only use sterile, single-use needle cartridges for tattoos and all other equipments are thoroughly cleaned and sterilised with Ultrasonic Cleaner and Enigma “B” Type Autoclave before every use. The studio is purpose built to the highest of hygienic standards and fully licensed by Southend Borough Council.

There is love and passion in each masterpiece - Joseph Delteil

The Artist

A lot of people unsure about their first foray into ink would probably welcome being able to discuss the process with a friendly lady, and could do worse than having a chat with Beata. Originally from Hungary, Beata exudes a passion about her work and a love for art and the aesthetic, and she also clearly recognises that walking into a tattoo shop for the first time can be a little intimidating. Beata is registered and licensed by the local authorities and has many years of experience in tattooing. Every pattern she creates has a meaning and she hopes it will have a positive impact on a person’s life. She helps people to turn their concepts and ideas into reality. ”The more I think about it, the more I realize there is nothing more artistic than to love others.”

My name is Beata Nemes but you can just call me BeARTa as the name that reflects the love I have had for art ever since I was a child. People say the true professionalism comes from the bottom of your heart, and that suits me very well as my hobby is also my profession. Creating something artistic is part of my life, and I’m so happy it fills my days. There was not a single day at nursery school that passed without me drawing; even at that early age all I wanted to do was be creative. There was never a question of which route to choose through school and further education, it was always going to be a creative path.

During these years I gained knowledge of enamel- work, commercial art- work, linoleum and copper engraving and pottery. After graduating from high school I went to study textile design at the University of Art, West Hungary, Savaria Campus. I have always found the fashion world appealing, the mixture of colours and forms fascinating so my decision to study textile design was no surprise and this still forms a large part of my life. Making patterns, designs, fabrics and materials work together in harmony is something I enjoy and learnt through these University years. Learning is an organic process and for me it will never stop, after my diploma I completed a confectioner course where I specialized on sugar sculptures, once again satisfying my desire to be creative, irrespective of the medium. The different shapes, tastes and smells grabbed me while working with caramel. Despite my sweet tooth for confectionary work I needed fresh challenges. My 8 years of henna- body painting experience stood me in good stead for the world of permanent tattoo. Giving something so personal and enduring to people is, for me, what art is really about.
